With a background in sports management and journalism Rod’s career in Real Estate did not begin until 2002 when he discovered it was more enjoyable spending his working life in the Great Lakes in preference to three to four months of the year overseas and away from home.
In his first week as a sales agent Rod sold a home in Forster to a couple relocating from Sydney and to this day still exchanges Christmas cards with his very first clients. In fact Rod has helped some people buy and sell two or three times during his Real Estate career and his easy going nature and ability to communicate with people from all walks of life helps ease the stress of Real Estate transactions.
Rod’s negotiating skills developed while nurturing the careers of professional athletes throughout Europe, Asia and the Pacific have proved invaluable in Real Estate. Time and again his colleagues have marvelled at his ability to pull a sale together or to keep one from falling apart. He has even jumped in his car and driven to Sydney to meet with a buyer or seller to strike an agreement on the sale of a property.
Rod’s belief is that negotiation is the least understood but perhaps one of the most important aspects of Real Estate. Having worked through the property boom of 2003 and the falling market post that period holds Rod in good stead to assist clients through the difficult times we are facing with Covid-19.
